DAEMON Tools Lite is a virtual drive program that allows you to create and mount images of CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs without restarting your PC.
DAEMON Tools can open the majority of the disc image file formats, but can create only MDX, MDS, and ISO files. MDX and MDS formats can be protected using a password; in this case they cannot be mounted or extracted without that. This app also has an option to compress images, but this function doesn't work for ISO format altogether with password protection.

This application incorporates various features that make it easy to use. DAEMON Tools can be associated with opening certain image file formats, a double-click on such files will mount them to the default virtual drive. The program is provided with an optional gadget for Windows desktop that lets you benefit from all the functions of DAEMON Tools without entering the app. You can also use GameSpace, an online service from the developer, that shows the ranking of the image files you use.
