DAEMON Tools Lite allows you to create up to four virtual drives on your computer, which work by mounting disc images and even some types of archive files. Similarly, it can create new image files (ISO) from selected contents. The tool has a simple-to-use interface but some of its features are also available from its tray icon, which lets you configure the program and even load files to the virtual drives without needing to open its main window.
The program supports various well-known image formats, such as ISO, CCD, MDS, CDI, NRG, PDI, B5T, CUE, BIN, and ISZ. Fortunately, the files can be loaded even if they are protected. It also lets you convert images from any of these formats to MDS, MDX, and ISO. However, it is a shame that it cannot work with other types of image files, like those created with Ultra ISO, Magic ISO and Power ISO.
The software can also help you compile and burn data discs and audio CDs. Likewise, it can burn already existing images and make virtual copies of a physical optical disc. Additionally, the tool is able to erase rewritable discs.
DAEMON Tools Lite has other valuable features. For instance, it can create a bootable USB drive and encrypt the contents of a portable storage device and protect them with a password. Also in terms of protecting data, the program can create TrueCrypt files. I am also glad that it can add a RAM disk, which uses available memory as a means to achieve higher performance. Finally, it is also good that it allows sharing files over a Wi-Fi network. more
